LUMINARIES The first African Girl Madeline Githae. Now Professor Micere Mugo was admitted to the prestigious white gives only school in 1961 when the late Veronica Owen was the Headmistress. The first African Head girl was Jane Mathu Kariuki. Early luminaries include Margaret Saitoti, Jean Koinange Muhoho, Justice Joyce Aluoch, Others,Justice Ang'awa, Unita Kidula, Rose Kimothi, Mary M'Mukindia, Ivy Mwai , Dr. Julie Karunditu, Wanjira Kamwere, Betty Oloo, Caroline Nyakairu, Mercy M.Achola, Audrey Lang'at, Patience Nyaoga In 1969 the Ministry of Education stated that it was their intention that Limuru Girls' continue as inter racial school In 1974 the Government took over the running of the school. Today it is a national public secondary school and selects students from all over Kenya after K.C.P.E. The selection is computerized and is based on merit.
